12th Annual Finalist – Blue Ridge Parkway Journey. Mabry Mill was in a state of decay when it was acquired in the mid 1930’s by the Blue Ridge Parkway. Today, three million people have been able to visit this historic, scenic, and cultural display as the parkway provides visitors the opportunity to view, learn, and experience during their drive on the blacktop. I love Mabry Mill and this is an outstanding photo of it in winter.
I’m surprised it made it here. It is the most photographed site on the parkway.
Beautiful photo of an iconic spot on the Parkway. Great shot, Sharon!
Beautiful image! As to what “PK” wrote about this being the most photographed site on the Parkway, it might be but you don’t see too many images of it that are nearly as good as this. With all the snow, partially frozen pond, and beautiful clouds in the background combined with a great composition this makes for an awesome image!
