An area in Gatlinburg that was effected by the wildfires of 2016. It is debated this fire had such a wide ranging impact as a possible downside of advancement in fire fighting technology as well as the success of the “Smoky the Bear” educational campaign. Because of those advancements the natural occurrences of fire is diminished leading to an over abundance of potential fuel.
