“Monarda Didyma”, a genus of flowing plants in the mint family. Otherwise known as bee balm or horse mint. As a young child, I would pick these plants and carry them with me all day long, pulling them from my pockets and breathing in the spicy mint aroma of the blooms and leaves. This shot is of purple bee balm that is just about spent and in its final days of bloom.
