From SWVA, this is a common scene. Industrial strongholds of years gone by, left to be reclaimed by nature. This particular site borders on the Smith River, now a popular rafting destination. As we deal with economic realities which drive manufacturing jobs to areas overseas and the like, we have to pay special attention to our old sites and how to best reclaim them into a more ecologically minded future.
