Wilson’s Creek Wild and Scenic River was established to protect this irreplaceable resourse for the use and enjoyment of future generations. This positive Ecological Footprint, along with the National Parks and other Conservation Areas, is a gift that needs to be protected from the many threats they face from an expanding, and sometimes unappreciative, population. It is hard to establish the worth of such special areas; however, it is imperative that we begin to value Wilderness resources in the same manner we value other irreplaceable commercial resources.
